Fort Miles re-enactors who wish to qualify on their weapons can participate in the Fort Miles Marksmanship Qualification Program.  There are three levels of qualification.  They are from lowest to highest: Marksman, Sharpshooter, and Expert.  Most units offer qualification programs of their own, and you can check with your commanding officer on your unit's individual program.  If your unit does not have a program, and you would like to qualify on your weapons, you may achieve qualification through this program upon obtaining clearance from your commanding officer.

Only WWII era weapons may be used for qualification.  You may use your own, or you may use a weapon from the Fort Miles inventory.  Qualifiers will be responsible for purchasing and bringing their own ammunition to use during the course.  Refer to the table below for type and amount of ammunition required for each level of qualification if you are using a Fort Miles inventory weapon.  Please note that only new or excellent condition ammunition may be used in weapons belonging to the park or park staff.

Requirement guides will be available to allow qualifiers adequate study time before taking the qualification course.  All documents listed below will be available upon their respective completion.  Until they are available, you may contact the XO for information on qualification requirements.  Scorecards may be viewed to better understand the grading system used during the course.
