Fort Miles & the 261st Coast Artillery
Wallen entered the 261st Coast Artillery through the unit’s R.O.T.C. program in 2008. Progressing through the ranks from Cadet Private to Cadet Captain, he accepted his commission in 2010 as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 261st Coast Artillery. In November of 2011, Wallen was appointed Battery Executive Officer. In January of 2012, he advanced to the rank of 1st Lieutenant. On 23 April 2015 he was promoted to the rank of Captain as the Battalion Executive Officer.  In the time since, he has made it his personal mission to assist the Soldiers of the 261st however he can, and to help the Commander in planning events, and leading the unit when he is not available.

Captain E Scott Wallen

United States Army
On 16 March 2012, Wallen enlisted in the Delaware Army National Guard as a 25Q (multi channel systems operator). He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma on 31 August 2012, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, GA on 9 October 2013. Wallen is assigned to Company A, 198th Expeditionary Signal Battalion - along with Rogers and Valenti. Wallen takes great pride in serving in the same unit with the men he first met as a member of the 261st Coast Artillery.

Personal Info
Wallen is rarely able to enjoy free time, juggling between his studies for the University of Delaware, the 261st, and the National Guard. When he does, he enjoys watching Star Trek, The X-Files, working on his car, or simply listening to music. Wallen also enjoys devoting extra time to expand his historical knowledge through documentaries, primary source documents, and books. He also collects military firearms, uniforms, and equipment from countries of all eras around the world. In the warmer months, Wallen can be found under the hood or behind the wheel of his 2011 Dodge Charger R/T. Wallen has always enjoyed music, and made some of his own in his middle school and high school years on the Trumpet and Piano. He was first introduced to music in the first grade, and it has been an integral part of his life ever since. Wallen’s music interests, much like his commander’s, lie in the 1970’s and 80’s with artists such as Tears for Fears, David Bowie, Tin Machine, Journey, and The Smiths.
